Stephen Malkmus and The Jicks - Middle America (2018)
I only just realised that it has been 20 years since Stephen Malkmus' Pavement split up. On first listen of "Middle America" I thought it WAS Pavement. Their former frontman's quirky vocal style and guitar melody has "90s indie/hipster" written all over it. I remember how bands like Pavement, Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr and The Pixies really shook up my perception of independent music. I'm probably being sentimental, but Middle America makes me want to delve into his archive and discover him all again.

Joan Baez - Whistle Down the Wind
This is from Joan's rumored last album and tour. I hope not I grew up with her beautiful voice and great interpretations of Dylan's song book. This is a great Tom Waits song and a suitably great version. It's a grower. I love it..

Un-interesting side note.
It was 7 years ago that Flycasual and myself started this blog up. There's been many highs and many lows, but at least the music has always been good.

ReplySFW - This is really good, almost sounds like a greatest hits in a song. So good i'm off to eat a pastie.
